Unhappy Network abort error

Hi, I've got two new computers running Windows 7 Home Premium. Both of these new PCs are having constant network abort errors. The error pops up saying it has lost connection to the company file and needs to close immediately Sometimes it takes 5 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes. There are other computers on the network running Windows XP with NO isses whatsoever. All computers have Quickbooks Pro 2009 on them, all are set to NOT host multi-user access, except for the computer that has the company file on it. The computer that has the company file is running XP Home, and acts as the business server.

What I have tried so far :
1 : Disable all sleep/hibernate settings on the host and both Windows7 computers.
2 : Disable network card sleep/power saving on host and Windows 7 computers.
3 : Verify ONLY the host is set to host multi user access
4 : Run the Intuit network diagnostic tool multiple times, checks as OK, "Opened company file"
5 : Disable Windows firewall on the host and both Windows7 computers
6 : Uninstall McAfee antivirus on the host (Win 7 computers have no antivirus)
7 : Run a constant repeating ping in cmd.exe to the host, never timed out a single time for over an hour
8 : Rebuild the company file using the rebuild utility in Quickbooks.
9 : Ensure the host and all clients have the latest updates for both windows and Quickboks

I've run out of things to try. Any ideas? I'd also like to note that one of the two Win7 computers used to run XP, and never had any issues. Only after upgrading to Win7 did the issues start. It was a fresh reformat.

Bottom line :
Computers having problems are running Windows 7. No XP computers are affected. Host is XP. All are running Quickbooks Pro 2009. Network aborts only on Windows 7 machines.

Quickbooks Abort

I am having the same problem with Windows 7 and QuickBooks 2011. QuickBooks aborts at least five times or more a day with the same error messages. I am not always performing the same task. It aborts when I try to save an invoice, when I am running or viewing reports, etc. I have new 64-bit Dell computer with Symantec virus software. We have multiple databases for separate companies which are all located on a brand new Dell server. The QuickBooks software is on my desktop. I am the only user. I think I have tried everything on your list without success including uninstalling and reinstalling the software, running the utility, rebuilding and verify the databases, cleaning the registers, searching for malware, etc. I am beyond frustrated. I hope someone has a solution.

@Augustus
I think this is more of an issue with Windows 7 communicating with the XP server.
I don't beleive this is an issue with the Quickbooks file, but it could be with the 2009 version - are you able to upgrade the program, or is that not in the works right now?

@Busops
Did you install the QB program on the server as well? You need it or the server component to host the files.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem of "connection has been lost" and must abort? We just started having the same problem.

One thing I've noticed is that in the last 3 months our .qbw file size has practically doubled from about 600MB to over 1Gig. For us the problem is showing up on the same computer that hosts the file - running Win7 home premier.

Quickbooks Abort

Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
I've got Quickbooks Pro 2012. 2 computer environment. Both running windows 7 home prem 32bit.
On the client, i get random network abort errors. Usually every 1-2 hours.
I have brought in a third computer, running windows 7 home prem 64bit, and experience the same issue.

Gone through the motions with windows 7, disabling power savings, and tcpip6, and so on.

Nothing seems to fix this issue. If anyone has fixed this, please share.
