Which Version would be best?

Can someone help me please, Im not the sharpest tool in the shed, and i am very new to all this.

I run a Automotive-dent repair business, I do a lot of traveling, and mostly sub-contract myself to other companies.

I create weekly invoices, and would like to search for Rego numbers, cust, or Inv numbers inside those weekly invoices. As i dont get the full payment of those invoices at once.

I also have 1-2 Rental propeties, and several investments i would like to track.

I sometimes have sub-contractors work for me, and would like to be able to divide those jobs to each Contractor.

At the moment i take my personal & Business BOX (loose papers) to the accountant, and have to put up with the bad looks and the lecture every time.

I want to do the right thing, so which version would be best for me?

Quicken Home and Buisness (out in oct)
Or a Quickbooks version.

Please help
Thanks in advance

Pre-GST I always felt that Quicken was a better choice for most people. However, the GST changed this. It has taken Reckon (who put out QuickBooks in Australaia) all this time since the GST came in to acknowledge that Quicken (and Cashbook) were not adequate for anyone under accrual accounting - something we all knew almost at once. hence the change we are now seeing.
As an accredited trainer I will get a copy of the new Home and Business as soon as it is out. I would prefer to defer my comments until I see it. Until then, I can only say that if you are under accrual, get QuickBooks. But also get a trainer to help you set up your system - it will save you a lot of heartache later. And even with paying to set up your system, it will be cheaper than having the accountant do all the work and charge like a wounded rhino.
And forget about being a blunt tool! The reality is that those who can do it are not necessarily smarter than those who can't - it is just that they have attained the knowledge on how to do it. It might seem sometimes complex, but rocket science it aint. There are a lot of people who are probably blunter than you who do their own accounts quite successfully.
Also use this forum - there are some incredibly knowledgable people willing to help.
