    Hi Rox,

I am setting up a new account with QuickBooksOnline Essentials as a sole proprietor, real estate broker (agent). This version does not seem to have an 'industry' choice like Real Estate that will give me a default account structure.

I am comfortable with uploading the accounts and I have an account list complete with numbering. However, when I downloaded the exmaple file for mapping, it does not list 'Detail Type' which does vary based on the account type selected. Most are expenses, so I could set one up manually and look at that type and use for majority.

I did try to delete the existing account names (clean up), but there are some that cannot be deleted, so I started over not wanting to have any corruption.

I am looking for the easiest way to set up a real estate agent. I am basically going to be entering commisions as deposited at this point.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreicated! =)

    Hi Paul,

    I'm sorry I didn't see this until now....hopefully it's not to late :-)

    1) I don't know if Inuit gives back a partial refund....probably not, but you would have to contact them for sure.

    2) Online banking services (and payroll, sending forms, etc.) only work in the current year and two prior Intuit 'sunsets' their versions every 2.5 years. Now if your bank offers a manual download/import ... you can do that. I have some clients still on 2005 and we use the manual downloads and we are running payroll through PayCycle .... and they don't need to send forms from QB's.

    3) Yes, PayCycle really is VERY easy to set-up and integrate and works great with QB's. When you set up your account in PayCycle you can either assign your existing accounts for the import mapping, or create new ones. OR...if the accounts don't already exist in QB's ... PayCycle will make them for you.

I hope this helps a bit....let me know if you have more questions.

    Rox :-)

Hi there. I saw a post you made today about the 2006 -> 2009 upgrade because of QB payroll. I was just about to upgrade myself when I saw your post. So glad I saw that post! I have a couple of questions that I hope you can answer
    1. can I cancel QB enhanced payroll and receive a pro rata refund? (my renew is in Dec)
    2. will online banking work indefinitely in the software if I don't upgrade? I really only use online banking and payroll, so if these work, I'd prefer not to upgrade.
    3. I just want to confirm that PayCycle easily integrates into QB... I can import all the fed, state and local taxes and it will show the accruals until I pay them off, just like my QB payroll does? Do I go through and assign QB accounts to each of the PayCycle accounts on the first download?
Thanks in advance for any help!!
    Paul G.
