How do I clear past history from year to year or old years?

I am also interested in how to get rid of previous years of information. Is there any way to copy to disk and start out "clean" besides making things inactive?

I think you can copy a company (I've done it before but can't remember how I did it) and start fresh. My problem is I have info in a prior year I want to clear and in a new year I want to keep.

It should be obvious how to do this. This is why I do not like non-accountant type programs like this. This program is quite limiting compared to "real accounting" programs I have run in the past.

Zeus ~ What were the "real accounting" programs you ran before, and why did you change. I still have not gotten a repy to "our" question on how to get rid of "old business." Have you?

The only way is to archive the old company files and start fresh with a new company set. Other programs have proper prior year segments, but QB has not incorporated this as yet.
