I didn't get a response from a post seeking advice on finding someone that could use remote access to look at my data and advise me of all that should be changed to bring it to a point that it would be usefull in the preparation of taxes , profit loss reports, etc. I have used QB for 8 yrs and have very poor skills due to no training, and would like to not really pursue training as much as have an expert make the changes for me. The prior post was much less formal - maybe that is why no one responded - or maybe I didn't make myself clear.

Do you have Quickbooks Online version or other remote access software on your computer?

I HAVE NETMEETING ON MY MACHINE AND PC ANYWHERE. I HAVE A BOOK FROM WWW.BONDTECHLTD.COM ON HOW TO SLASH YOUR ACCOUNTING FEES THAT LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT ONLY THE ACCOUNTANTS QB'S NEED HAVE THIS FEATURE. SO I MAY BE CONFUSED HERE, BUT THE BOOK QUOTES WHAT QB'S TELL THE ACCOUNTANT (BUYER) HE OR SHE CAN DO IN THIS AREA AND IT SURE SOUNDED THAT WAY TO ME. THANKS FOR THE REPLY.

Well, QB has an online version, so that you and others you want can access the application and data. If you want I can take a quick look at your quickbooks set up through net meeting. How much are you paying in accounting fees? Maybe what you really need is a bookkeeper to do some data entry periodically, like once a month or every two weeks. And at the end of the year have your CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) do your taxes.
My thinking about quickbooks is that it is all in the set up. If you set it up correctly it should make your life a little easier. You can also set up your general ledger accounts to different tax forms.
Let me know what you think?

I have just been introduced to RealVNC. It allows remote access over the internet - and is free. We have used it to demonstrate software between cities. It can be used for communication both ways. However, it is not suitable for 56k modem connections. Worth having a look at. With a fast connection, it would allow accountants to actually work on client's data.
