I work in A/R and I have to share Quickbooks with A/P. There are two companies owned by the same people that we both work for. Therefore I do A/R for both and A/P does the work for both. So when I am in one company A/P cannot be in it at the same time. I know there is multiserver mode but that does not allow us to be in the same company at the same time. I was told that in order to be able to be in the same co. at the same time we need to purchase another license. How do I go about doing that? The owners are willing to do what is necessary but seem to have left it up to me to get it done. Except I really am not sure what to do.

I'm assuming that your computers are networked, is that correct? Both computers must have their own copy of the program and you can read about multi users in the Help index of your program.

QB will sell you the multi user pack no problem. We have 5 users (networked) using the same company at the same time. You'll need to go in to Company and add each user but it works great!

Thanks everyone for helping me. I solved the problem! I purchased 2 Quickbooks Pro updates. One for each computer. Doing this enables me and Accounts Payable to be in the same company at the same time. We got it today and I installed both. I can't wait to use it!
