Pardon my fledgling status as a QB user -just installed a few days ago and have yet to round a bend in the learning curve but I am going through "QB for dummies". I am reading a section on adding items you may include on invoices and I've read to categorize the item by selecting an item type. The book lists 'inventory part' as one of the options for item type but it is not listed in the 'new item' drop down menu. i know the book tries to be general and cover all the QB flavors but is this problem I'm having found only in QB for mac? Or am I making some noobie mistake?
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you are using the Simple Start version, inventory is not supported. It is included in the Regular versions.

Thanks for your reply Joe. I am using QuickBooks 2012 for Mac. Do you know (or does anyone else) if inventory is supported in this version?

Does MAC have Preferences for Vendors? If it does see if there is a preference for inventory there.
