sales orders

My company just switched from great plains accounting software to quickbooks pro 2002. We are a business that ships products to our customers via our truck, common carrier, or ups. We need to produce a sales order and from that we need to make an invoice later. and cant figgure out how to make this work with quickbooks. Can anyone help us with this?

Try entering the sales order through the Create Invoices window then go to the Edit Menu and click Mark as Pending. This will not post the tranasction and when you decide to turn it into a sales invoice go to the Edit Menu and click Mark Invoice as Final.
