Trouble opening quickbooks

When I try to open my Quickbooks Pro 2012.
I get an err message:
Quickbooks can't start because it is already running. Only Quickbooks Accountant and Quickbooks Enterprise can open more than one company file.

I previously closed Quickbooks and do not show it running anywhere.

have you re-booted your pc?

Try running the task manager and see if the process is still running. Hit ctrl-alt-del to get to it.
