My QB file is failing the Verify Data test. In the application Console it indicates 3 records by 4 digit numbers which have a "ship to too long" How can I trace back these records to edit these fields? MacOs 10.5.8 - QB 2009-Version 10.0.7 R8.
I ran the Rebuild many times, but the same "error" keeps appearing in the Console reports.
QBW 05/13/11 18:49:45
Verify Master: ShipTo too long. Rcrd = 2725
Verify Master: ShipTo too long. Rcrd = 3866
Verify Master: ShipTo too long. Rcrd = 5570
Verify Completed
Is there a way that these records can be tracked down to make the correction in those "Ship To" fields?

Not sure about MAC, but try opening the Customer list and clicking on Customer:Job button and choosing Customize Columns and add Ship To.

Check your audit trail report (under Reports>Accountant).
Modify this report to include the trans #.
You might have to export this to excel and do a search in that for the trans # to find the customer and specific transaction that it is linked to.
Post back with your findings. . .

LauraD,
Thanks for helping.
Your approach is a good one. At least now you can see a transaction#. Seems like this option is available in various reports? But not all.
Is this transaction #, the record # in the Console report?
Because the transaction # reaches 1248, while the records # being mentioned in the report are way further.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for helping.
When I reach Customer Job List, where do I find the "Customize Columns"?

Sorry - I thought it would be the same #.
I wish I knew.

Any idea where that record # mentioned in the report comes from?

No.
However, search your computer by qbwin.log - take a look at that - if you search that by the number, it might tell you what transaction it is.

The QBwin.log would be where in a Mac? Is this a utility of QuickBooks or the Windows operating system?

It is a file created after a rebuild.
I would search the docs for it.
