Hello all,
My name is John Cronkite and I recently certified as a pro advisor in QuickBooks, Enterprise solutions and Point of Sale. I graduated in March with a B.S. in managerial accounting and am now engaged in study to take the CMA examination.
I am a mid-life career changer having spent the first part of my career in manufacturing quality and operations. I am now searching for my first opportunity in accounting which I am hoping will be in a cost or combination cost/financial accounting role with an employer using Enterprise solutions. My goal is to find a position that would satisfy the experience requirements for both the CMA and the CPA. It would be a win/win proposition for the right employer as they would be employing a pro-advisor/cost accountant on staff for entry level wages and I would be gaining experience. The tough part is finding that employer.
The reason I am targeting the CMA is that every business entity can benefit from cost management and cost accounting activities. In the long run I hope to engage in Quickbooks and business consulting in areas of cost management and control using the QuickBooks accounting solutions.
I look forward to reading and learning while contributing what I can to the discussion.
