We have been running Quickbooks Enterprise 2010 and we have now encoutered a very slow moving program? We have 1 server , 4 local stations and 2 remote connecting stations.

We can all input data with no problem, It is when anyone goes to save SO or make an invoice or when you hit print....the whole system just locks up??

We had our server and all of the computers as well as our connection tested and everything is working perfect.

My questions is can it be the file size which about 1.6gb and if so how do you free up space in the file??? And can it be running so slow because we have around 100 price lists???

Please we cant get any good advice from quickbooks, but what they did have us try was rebuild data, clear date and made the fragments to about 5.

Any help would be appreciated

A 1.6GB data file is pretty big. Options to bring the file size down (and performance up) would be to have the file supercondensed (http://quickbooksusers.com/file-shrink.htm) or recreated (http://quickbooksusers.com/recreate-company.htm).

Some things to try regarding the freezing problem: Does it happen if you are doing this on a copy of your company that is on your C: drive, or does it only happen when running across the network?
