transaction reports by account

When I use the Transaction Reports by account I get strange results. I asked for and received all transactions for about two years on one account. Later I tried toget the same information and could not. I could get the information for the "last Fiscal Year," by when I tried to get it for the two year period it would put Opening balance equity and some number at the top of the last fiscal year transactions. This information appeared to have no relationship to the account. Going to the number did not make it possible to click on the number ans get the transacton.I have received this message at other times when I tried to get a transaction report for an account. The books were closed at the end of the last fiscal year, but all the account information is still available on the computer. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like at some point you condensed your data file. That leaves the totals forward and deletes the transactions in the account prior to whatever period you select to condense. You can still get reports for the prior periods but the detail has been deleted.
