ending balance won't input on reconciliation

I use QB Pro 4.0 on iMac. I am unable to input the ending balance on the reconciliation window. The correct ending balance shows on the register, but it will not input into the reconciliation window. Any suggestions?

Is this the first time you have reconciled the account in the program or have you reconciled before?

have reconciled many times before. just completed reconciliation for previous month when glitch occurred. had completed register inputs on new month
register showing correct ending balance, but the ending balance screen will not accept the data.

If you had a "glitch" then your data file is probably corrupted. I don't use the MAC version, but try closing all windows and going to File, Utilities, and Verify your data file. Run the Rebuild if instructed to.
