checks without amount

How do I print checks with no amount?

I work at a construction company and we give checks to supervisors to buy materials.

Payee is always printed and "not to exceed $XXX.00".
But I need a blank amount.

HELP!

If you put in 0 as the amount and then save and print the check, it should print blank.
