Hi. I am brand new to the forum. I have used Quicken for many years to run a real estate brokerage. I am debating on switiching to QuickBooks instead. I do no invoicing, but do run an accounts receivables. Also I would like to know if there is an advantage to the reports that can be done on QuickBooks as opposed to reports that can be done on Quicken. After using Quicken for 20 years, will it be very different using a version of QuickBooks? Thanks!

QuickBooks is lots different than Quicken. It has an actual Accounts Receivable ( to hold invoices, Credit Memos and payments) and Accounts Payable ( to hold Bills, Bill Credits and Bill payments. QB uses items on the invoices to allow greater breakdown of the sales of service/product. There are reports that show the Open Invoices (unpaid) and unpaid bills with their ageing/past due.

Thanks Joe, It may be that what I need is simply the newest version of Quicken and not QB. I hate to have to totally relearn a new process, as I can almost do Quicken in my sleep! Do you know if the new Quicken versions have the ability to pay bills online? Or a way to allow bills to be paid at your bank that links to Quicken and makes automatic entries? Thanks.
