In my construction business I work in several cities where I have to withhold an occupational tax on my employees for time worked in that city. I created a seperate hourly wage item for the cities. Then I created a local tax item for the occupational tax. I tried to select the city wage item to base the tax on, but it it automatically selects all wage items and gives me an error if I try to deselect any wage items. So I used the "based on quantity" property, so I could enter the amount of the city wages. Now when I preview my W-2's, the local wages is way off.
1.How can I correct my W-2's?
2.Is the some way to associate the tax item with only the city wage item?
