I have QB2000 setup and have used it through 2001. In the Chart of Accts, there is only one account listed for "Payroll Expenses".

I am trying to import all of my 2001 info into TurboTax for Business. I have setup the "Tax Line" on each Account in the Chart of Accounts (in QB2000) to correspond to the appropriate tax line.

However, "Payroll Expenses" includes many detailed deduction lines (such as Wages/Salaries, Compensation of Officers, Payroll Taxes, etc.) ... when I try to go into each line item in the account, it brings me to a paycheck from which I cannot break out items to separate Accounts.

Does anyone know how to assign the different expenses associated with payroll (Salary, Each Tax, Other Deductions) so that it will import properly into TurboTax for Business?

Thanks.

You need to edit your payroll items to correct this. First, in your Chart of Accounts, create the accounts that you want to use for your liabilities and expenses. Then edit each one of your payroll items and it will ask you for the correct liability and expense account you want to use. You assign the accounts there and it will go back and sort all your payroll data for the prior periods for you. You don't have to re-enter the payroll.
