starting new year

I have too many years of data at my finger tips. I would like to keep 2001 handy and get rid of all previous years from my hard drive, keeping previous years on floppy. I have tried starting a new account, but then I loose all my lists etc. Can anyone help me?

When you start the new company file, don't go thru the whole interview. Just name the file and leave. Then go to the old company and Export the Chart of Accounts and any lists you want. Then open the new file and Import them there. At this point you can delete any old customers, vendors, or items you no longer want in the lists because there are no transactions entered yet.
