I am encountering an error when attempting to convert an accountant's transfer file. I get a error icon which says "Failed," with a red X. I have made sure everything is updated. It has happened with both the 2006 and 2007 edition. Answer anyone?

What version is your client using? Normaly youneed to have the same version or higher to "start using" an Accountant's Copy file.

The client has 2007. Our office uses 1999-2009, depending on what our client has. I used 2007 to attempt to open this client's file.

If you right click the QBX file on the property tab, what version does it show? and does it have the attribute for Read Only set?

I know all of the usual tricks like you have just suggested. The version is indeed 2007, and read only is unchecked. It is very strange.

Then it acts like the client has data file damage. Have them cancel the accountant's copy and then run the verify and rebuild utilities. After that they should then create a new Accountant's Copy and sent it to you.
If the client does not understand the utilities, can they send a copy of the file to you?

I am using QB pro 2009 and so is my accountant. When I go to upload his copy I can not see the copy. If you can't see it you can't select it.
I have been reading threads trying to find an answer and found this thread.
When I look at the QB icon or rt click on it, it reads my company name (Acct Transfer Jan. 27, 2010 06 00PM).

Could this be the problem with me importing the Accountant's Copy?
