I am using 30 day trial version of QuickBooks Enterprise solutions - Contractor edition. I have QB server and client in one machine and in another machine i have only the client.
I have created a company file named “d-tools.qbw”. I want to share this company file to network users using QuickBooks Database server manager. Is it possible by using Database server manager?. Today I used Scanned folder option and added the folders that are not shared ones, to the location where qbw file resides.
My question is does Scanned folder or Monitor drive option in Database Server Manager enable the folders as shared one automatically? Or should it be shared by windows property?
According to me it works only after sharing the folder using windows property. Am I correct?. If not what is the use of Database Server Manager?.
Company files when shared under Database Server Manager should automatically switch over to multi user mode but this doesn’t happen and has to be manually done by selecting the option Switch to Multi-user mode from File menu. Is this correct? Or should it switch over automatically to Multi-user mode?
Thanks,
