I'm setting up Quickbooks for an Advertising/PR company. This company wants to track time against activities such as writing, editing, client meetings, etc.,. However, billing is based on which staff member is doing the work. That is, billing is not based on the activity, but on the employee. Have setup the activities as items with zero units of cost. Then setup employees with their appropriate billing rates. When I tried to create invoices based on the time entered against a job Quickbooks ties the billing amount to the activity (or item) and not the employees billing rate. Any ideas on how to work around this?
Thanks in advance your help and advice.
