Resolve error 6123
This error indicates that QuickBooks did not receive a reply when it tried to contact the computer where the company file is located.

To do this task

On the computer where the company file is stored, verify that the computer is powered on and is not in Standby or Hibernate mode.

Close other programs you may have open to free up available resources. Be sure to save your work before closing any program.

If you use firewall software, verify that the firewall settings are correct.

To allow QuickBooks access, configure your firewall application as follows:

Delete users's profile on their PC. You could probably hunt down the QB application specific data within the user profile if you looked hard enough and just delete that but we don't allow our users to keep much in their local profiles so deleting the profile is the easy option. A patch that hit us on 12/23/08 seems to have been the culprit as everything was working prior to that.
