I want to run a report with customer contact info (name, address, phone number) that also shows total sales for the year. The summary report will give me total sales but I can't add the contact info and the detail report will give me contact info, but shows each line item and that makes the report way too long. Any ideas?
Thanks.

A few suggestions, since I'm not sure exactly how you want to see it.
1) Try using the Custom Transaction Detail Report and adding the fields you want. Like below - go to the Filters Tab to select just the Transaction Types you want to see.
2) Use Transaction List by Customer, modify and export to Excel if needed. Be sure to go to the FILTERS tab and select the Transaction Type so you don't have the Invoice and Payment lines showing
Will either of those work for you?

The Custom transaction report is the closet to what i want, but i still end up with every invoice listed instead of just a total. The report ends up being over 50 pages long, instead of 1 or 2 pages.
It seems like this would be a somewhat common report so I'm pretty surprised there isn't an easier way to do it.
Thanks.

If this is something you use a lot, you may want to get a programmer to code up a custom report. If you sort by Customer instead of the default and select only Payment as the transaction type - then export to Excel, you should be able to manipulate it.
You can try searching on the marketplace for report products or contact me off-forum (qbsrox@aol.com) and I can give you the contact information for a great programmer who could knock this out for you at a reasonable price.

I just tried something else that might help - In the Filters tab - also select which account! Example - if you always use Invoices and Receive Payments - select Invoices as your Transaction type and Undeposited Funds as your account (no splits). This should get you very close.
