View Full Version : Payroll subscription question

I tried doing payroll myself for about three weeks here, and we've decided that it would be easier, and probably better, to work through the QB standard payroll service...
I already set it to "enter payroll manually" and set up our employees and entered info -
Am I going to be able to switch to the payroll subscription? Will it take me though another set-up so that I can get all the tax into working properly?
Any advice before I try this?

My advice is to use PayCycle ... much better IMHO than through QB's. Go to www.bizpayroll.com for special pricing.
If you do decide to stay with QB's call them so you don't get charged a 2nd time, but just the difference between subscriptions.

Thanks for the link, I'm checking that out right now...
How would I integrate that information into my QB for writing paychecks and tracking expenses? Just add the info manually into the QB payroll forms like I'm doing now?
I'm a bit confused about what you mean "get charged a second time" - I haven't signed up with any QB payroll subscription at all, yet - only clicked the links that allow me to enter my own calculated information into QuickBooks.
I don't mean to sound too simple, but I know that our first three weeks of payroll are NOT calculated correctly, and I'd like to get up and running properly as soon as I can to avoid compounding the problem.

Oh I thought maybe you had paid for the Basic subscription and wanted to upgrade to the Enhanced; since you haven't paid that won't be a problem and the upgrade would go ok.
The paychecks import right into QB's from PayCycle, as well as the tax payments when you make them (eFiling, Direct Deposit, etc. is included) ... now if you need detailed job costing then it won't be the best choice.
It's definitely worth doing something though, not having them calculate properly is a pain you don't need :-(
