I have the 2002 version that I have finally decided to use. Do you think I need to upgrade or will this be ok for me to use? Basically I just want to keep track of income and expenses, send job quotes and invoices.
Thank you
Denise

The software itself should work just fine. You won't be able to use any of the electronic services, such as emailing forms, online banking, etc. As long as you don't want those things, then you should be fine.

It is not compatibable with IE 7.0 so you cannot use it if you install IR 7.0 or upgrade to the new Windows Vista.

Anyone having compatibility problems (or any other issues) with Internet Explorer should seriously consider switching to Mozilla Firefox.
I've been using this alternative web-browser for 2 years now without any problems whatsoever. It's more stable, more functional and less of a security risk than Internet Explorer.
And it's free.
You can get more information at:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for catching that Joe. You are right.
At this point, Denise, you need to be careful about using older versions of QB. You still CAN use them - they function just fine, but changes are coming that all QB users need to be aware of. Here are two articles I wrote about the subject:
QuickBooks and the New Internet Explorer (http://www.ezinearticles.com/?QuickBooks-and-the-New-Internet-Explorer---What-All-QuickBooks-Users-Need-to-Know&id=330623)
QuickBooks and the Vista Operating System (http://www.ezinearticles.com/?QuickBooks-and-the-Vista-Operating-System---What-QuickBooks-Users-Need-to-Know&id=331771)
The bottom line is that if you don't need the electronic services that QB offers, the use QB 2002 and, like Joe said, don't upgrade to IE7 or Windows Vista.

To clearify the IE 6.0. QuickBooks uses the Active-X that is installed with IE. They are working on patches for QB-2005-2007 but it may not be available for a couple of months.

Thank you, I will see what classes our local college offers and what version they are using and may just upgrade.
Thanks
Denise
