Moving from one computer to another

I just purchased a new desktop and wish to move my QuickBooks Pro 2001 from my laptop to the desktop. From what I can tell, it looks like I will need to do a hard disc install of QuickBooks (to avoid overwriting the newer vesion of IE) on the desktop and then import my data from the laptop.

What concerns me are all the settings I worked all year to establish on the laptop - does anyone know if the data import includes all the company and preference settings?

you will not overwrte IE just chose custom intall and deselect IE you will get some mesages but QB will install and work well with IE6.
