While reconciling opening balance is different from last closing balnce

I have checked the old reconciled reports. We are having this problem for past several months.

Any help on this is greately appreciated.

I have seen this many times before. Despite my clients' insistance that they did no such thing, it always is because a previously cleared item was marked uncleared in the register or vice versa after the reconciliation was prepared. This can be very hard to spot, especially several months down the road.

The same problem has occurred in our office with the balance
being changed upon reconciliation. Sometimes a transaction is deleted accidently - making it impossible to find or someone has corrected a deposit at some point and not let the person who reconciles know about the change in the deposit from a prior month. Fun stuff huh ??
