When I first received QB I called and complained about this and tech told me to delete a file and it did improve. However when I had to reinstall it started printing above lines again. Does anyone know this file I deleted before? QB wants to charge me to correct the problem.

Hopefully you are using the correct checks for Quickbooks. Also, on the check printing screen there is an alighment button that allows you to move where the printing goes. This shoudl do it if you are using the correct checks.

The easiest way is to go to File>Printer Setup>Checks/Paychecks. On the right side of the screen is a box that says Align Checks. Click on that and use the vertical adjustment. Start with a piece of plain paper to test the adjustment and start with a number like "5". You can overlay the plain paper on a sheet of checks held up to the light to see the alighment. Fine tune it from there and you should get it where you want.

I believe that this may have started sometime last year when the banks came out with a requirement that you had to print no lower than a certain point at the bottom of the check due to their processing requirements. It raised the print about that much.

Joey - I have seen this discussed on other forums, but I have bought checks twice since then, and have never had a problem with alignment. Other people seem to. I compared & measured the new checks against the old and there was not difference. The last check I bought was in August of this year.
