The CPA types are saying there is a huge amt of info to be gained if we can calculate this number...
Anyone know how? I figure it is the total gross revenue divided by the number of transactions... can't find how to get a report on the denominator, the # of transactions.
Thanks

Dave,
Are you wanting this information to start billing per transaction? If so, then there are some great case studies/guidelines available on the ProAdvisor website.
To get the number of transactions, you have to pull up the screen (F2) to see how many transactions before you start entering, then again once you are finished, then subtract and you have the number of transactions you entered during that session.
Hope that helps,
Rox :-)

ATC = average transaction charge; yes I am serious.
Deadly serious. Well I do joke around a lot. When I am in my manic stage. Just kidding.
5 people come to shop, make purchases of
$11
$4
$9
$6
$5
ATC = 11+4+9+6+5=35/5
=$7 per customer over this day.
I want it over a whole year.

hmmm, "billing per transaction" no I don't think so but not sure what bpt means.... we are going to use the numbers for information purposes only .... like, in 2005 we had an ATC of $78.00 but it went up in 2006 to $79.05

I see the number of transactions on F2,... but it lists them all the way back to 2001. How can I get the number of Sale Receipts from Jan 1 2004 to Dec 31 2004?
Thanks!

If you are talking about the average sale price you could pull a report - Sales by Item Summary. You can do a Total by Day. This will give you a percent of sales for each item and the amount for each item sold that day. If you do a Sales by Customer Summary report you can modify have it show % of Column - the column being the total of the sales. The only way I know you could actually get the average transaction (sales) would be to export this report to Excel and use the @average on the column.
Sorry Dave. That's why I asked that stupid question. I didn't know whether you meant you wanted your customer's sales transactions or you wanted to charge a client for the number of transactions you had to create to do his books in the file. Knowing that the transaction count in the F2 area was the complete total used on the file itself, I didn't see how you could mean that.
I think what you are looking for is the average number of sales per customer as the other person described.
