I have a business where I sell the same products both retail and wholesale. Any idea how to set up my item list?

QuickBooks only allows one price point. It is possible to set up other price points as Custom Fields, but while this can be used by a Point of Sale that draws the data from QuickBooks (QuickPOS here in Australia does it), but it can't be used by QuickBooks itself.
One way would be to sell at retail and use a discount item to reduce the price. You can set up 5%, 10% etc as discount items. I would also set up a Subtotal item and use this to total up items with a similar discount - then apply the discount as one line.
The other way would be to create an item - then subitems of Retail and Wholesale for each. This would work for Non Inventory Items, not for Inventory. Keep the description the same and add "Retail" or "Wholesale" at the end.

I'm setting someone up that has 3 price levels, and they don't conform to percentage discounts. I'm going to do what gibbo says, create a "main" item for the most-used selling and the sole purchasing item, and subitems for the lesser-used selling prices.
Quantities will go negative during invoice processing, but the client has agreed to "true up" the quantities with inventory adjustments periodically.
I'll letcha know how it works.
