Inventory/Sales report question

Does anyone know or can anyone think of a way to produce the following report:

For a particular item or items, show all other items that were sold on the same invoices as the item(s) in question.

This is purely a sales information tool that we are trying to put together, to find out which other items customers tend to buy together with specific items. The idea is to find out trends and perhaps put together packages or groups that people will inherently want to purchase.

possibly, you can do a sales report by item showing the info in contxt. ie. inv#, cust name, state, etc. Then export to excel, sort by invoice number and do a search for an item. Thinking about it now, doesnt sound like it will give you much more than the priginal, but maybe a start for thoughts.

Thank you for your suggestion. I was trying to do this from "inside" QB, if possible.
