Class dropped on txn import

[I originally posted this in the QB Pro forum, but hoped I might have better success here, since this is the version we're running.]

We are successfully importing transactions via .IIF file with one flaw: The import lines contain (among other things) Class codes. The data on the SPL line comes in just fine (including Class), but the data on the TRANS line does not include the Class info when it gets into QuickBooks (though all other data on the line comes in fine). Any suggestions for getting the Class info to import for ALL lines of each transaction?
